Maybe it's just naivete but that seems like a lot of open water to go through without stopping.

Personally for purely peace of mind I would prefer going the longer route and having a few stops on the way so I didn't go crazy but.....Boatman is probably much tougher then me and this is a job so I get the straight through approach. I'd just be afraid I'd turn into Tom Hanks from castaway by the end of the journey.

Either way I'm still jealous I can't be doing the same thing as him right now.

He said he was heading to the Banks (Grand Banks?) and then hang a right.

Re: Atlantic delivery

According to the Spot website the coverage map indicates the Spot Gen3 will work in the Mid Atlantic.

The drama is already starting, it hasn't updated in 2 hours. Did the spot malfunction? Did he turn it off? Did it loose clear view of the sky? Was there a problem with the boat? I can't handle the stress.............alright really I'm just at work and bored and the little dot on the screen hasn't moved in forever

Re: Atlantic delivery

as long as boaty is in the boat all is well....

i have gen 1..i have to punch button for each recorded location.....boatys is automatic, and he can program the frequency, as far as i could see in the info i read in spot site when i activated mine last year...mebbe he got tired of us looking up his skirt so close...

i think he is only pushing it when he feels like it now....

Re: Atlantic delivery

Looks like the Great Circle Route will take Boaty through Bermuda and the Azores.
Two great beer and tobacco stops for him

I'd call in to Bermuda for the best rum on the planet. Goslings Black Seal. It would make Bacchus give up wine...!
