Yet another abomination of the English language. bad ass - I mean think about it for a minute

"that boat looks Bad ass" so that boat is a naughty donkey, its an unattractive posterior. Can't you people leave the language alone.

Anyway - you want badass - this is the boat for you

Re: Atlantic 48 vs Switch 51

ok...i was afraid it would mean just bad or not nice...!
For the comparison i would rather say that switch is more a fast 4x4 of the seas like porsche cayenne and the A48 ok for ferrari 360, no ?

Hi Catastroff,
My husband and I just bought a Switch 51 in March out of Denmark. He is currently sailing it back to Canada where we live. Just approaching Baiona, Spain. Happy to connect with you.

Kathham, how come he gets to have all the fun? Are you holding down the fort and working so he can cross oceans?

Welcome to CF, with your choice of a boat you are already a big dog here.

It really does take years to pick the right boat. We spent 3 years looking.
Welcome aboard the CF. Enjoy your new ride.

I have to ask the question, is there a time frame for pulling the plug and cruising far and wide full time? Or are you planning on using such a capable boat for vacations to warmer climates and keeping the "9 to 5" and home?

I'm a nosy guy aren't I? It is just that I don't often get the opportunity to talk with someone that has just acquired such a capable and comfortable boat as the Switch 51.

Yes, looking at 2 years, 3 months , cruising far and wide full time, home was sold 2 years ago and we have been practicing living "small" in an apartment.

Re: Atlantic 48 vs Switch 51

Is this your new home? Is there a blog that we can follow your husband's crossing? Is he singlehanding or has a delivery crew?

Re: Atlantic 48 vs Switch 51

I know they look alike on the outside, but being a custom build the interiors are unique, so does this look like your boat?

Re: Atlantic 48 vs Switch 51

Welcome to the Switch family, Catastroff and Katham. An Atlantic 48 may pass you, but not many other boats will and you will do your 12 knots in perfect comfort. There are not many Switch 51 owners around, so feel free to stay in touch.
Cheers!
