Any one in San Carlos Sonora, Mexico?

I am interested in a Gemini Catamaran located in San Carlos Sonora, Mexico. Is there anyone near by who would be kind enough to take a look at it for me?

Thank you,

Ty Gregory

next month - late in October perhaps - a close friend who is a very experienced cruiser will be returning to his boat in San Carlos

Where is the Gemini listed?

I cruised in the Sea of Cortez with a Gemini that was shared by two brothers from Puget Sound - each one would spend three months or so with their family on the boat and then let the other brother use it.

They seemed to have a good time and the boat worked well for a family of four

That might work, and then again, who knows. The boat is for sale now. Where exactly it is in San Carlos, I don't know. Might just have to let this one slide. However, if it is still for sale around October, I might just PM you and see if your friend would be willing to take a look.

Thank you,

Ty

Re: Any one in San Carlos Sonora, Mexico?

My friend was down that way on a boat a few months ago and she asked me to check on flights for her out of San Carlos/Guaymas. There ain't none except for one local carrier that is very expensive. All other carriers have shut down service. Just getting there means flying into Hermosillo and taking a 90 minute bus ride. She ended sailing back down to Cabo and flying out of there.
Also, there was some bizarre flood which wiped out the (only?) marina and left boats stranded on the hard. They were rebuilding the travel lift or whatever they had. It might be working now.
This area does have the advantage of being only about 4 to 5 hours south of the US border by car.
Good luck finding a surveyor.
That Gem may not be worth the effort.

I'll be down there in December as well. The boat isn't named windseeker, is it?

Thank you everyone! I am trying to locate the seller and will see if the boat is still for sale.

By the way, susswein, the boat's name is Luna Sea.

If Luna Sea is sold, we have our cat for sale in San Carlos also.
It is a PDQ 32 on Sailboatlistings.com

Re: Any one in San Carlos Sonora, Mexico?

I need a mechanic and hull surveyor on Monday in Guaymas, Sonora, Mexico to go check out a trawler for me. I'm driving down there with the seller from Green Valley, AZ on Monday Dec. 19 early morning. His boat is on the dry for three years. So before I pay for both the haul out to sea trial and the haul in in case the boat is not good, I need a surveyor to inspect it for me while it's on the hard. Please if anyone knows of a contact I can call for a surveyor in the area, I'd appreciate very much. Thank you.
