Re: Another rare 56' Aerorig cat (Hughes design) for sale
If a boat sits on the market for 6 years without selling its either overpriced or undesirable. Having said that, it's still possible there maybe someone out there that would pay the price for her, but that person has yet to surface.

And let me ask you why you so worried that I've compared this boat with Lagoon? Is it something prohibited?

Obviously not prohibited. Just foolishly uncomparable.
Maybe the owners don't really want to sell?
Maybe this is just your way for you to justify your desire to buy a lagoon.
Whatever it doesn't matter.
This discussion is going nowhere.
Buy the boat YOU want, for YOUR reasons and enjoy.

I'd suggest you try reading posts before reacting to them.
There's been nothing personal in my posts. I've stated that I can call a stupid post as such, but have never said anything about the poster necessarily being stupid.
As for me knowing nothing about boat values, coming from someone who doesn't own a boat, that's pretty laughable.
Go and look at some cheap boats, you'll soon see why they are priced the way they are. (Or you would if you knew what you were looking at...)
Better still, buy one.

LOL. We are living in the real world and must accept realities regardless we like them or not.
This is from neighbour thread.
"2) We wanted a known brand. Just from our experience with monos, a known brand can be researched as far as issues or strengths. Resale was also an issue and we have always found a known brand with good reputation tends to hold its value and sells better (imo)"
This is what most people think. And this affects market price, resale value, probability of resale. Nor you or me can change that. But this should taken into consideration when buying the boat (unless boat purchase treated as completely unrecoverable financial loss and strictly emotional purchase.

Re: Another rare 56' Aerorig cat (Hughes design) for sale
Personally I think a Gunboat 62 is ridiculously overpriced compared to a Volkswagen Golf.
But a VW Golf is in turn too expensive compared to a 5 year old golf ball....
Compared to Ping-Pong balls, golf balls are way overpriced...
How much is a second-hand banana REALLY worth? Hmmm, better study some photo's...

I don't know, I used to buy some pretty expensive ping pong balls. Like anything else, you get what you pay for.

1. That's really strange if you ask me - to keep boat on the market and do not sell it. Waiting for idiot with deep pockets?
2. Lagoon is not the boat of my dreams (but might be considerable compromise)
3. Once more - that's you, guys, not me, started this pointless discussion. In the beginning I simply showed the boat and stated that it's overpriced. Many guys, who later posted (and some of them seen boat in person!) confirmed that this is nice boat but not worth asking price.

By the way, during discussion there was interesting information about this particular boat and more. None of that interesting information came from you, who's trying to shut me up. So what's your point keeping posting here?

You're right. Having a discussion with you is like trying to talk to a right wing, conservative door knob.
You already have all your answers. Carry on.

Yes, a banana will bring what the market will bear as a 6 year old banana is worthless.
