Seems like it could tip over while sailing down-wind, like turning a tri-cycle too sharply, etc. Anyone else think that?

G'day all,

Ann and I dinghied past this odd vessel a couple of years ago, and I nearly broke my neck whipping around as we cleared her stern and I saw the twin hulls. Hadda go back and make several circuits around the boat to make sure that I wasn't having a Tequila fit. Definitely thinking outside of the box...

That's what I thought. She must have a VERY conservative rig to be safe...

also, weight distribution would need to be carefully thought out before going out to sea.

I saw a boat like that in BVI during my charter. It also had a fairly tall cabin (somewhat like real cats). Frankly, it was one of the weirdest (and, to my eye, ugliest) looking sailing vessels I ever saw.

The sea didn't swallow it whole, so I suppose it ain't so bad. It definitely aims for those who want the most room vs. sailing ability.

It would be interesting to find out about the builder, and what plans were used. My Google search only returns ads for the boat and a yellow page add. The joinery looks professional as does the hull, it also shows a CAD type drawing of the hull shape. If it has sailed from Australia to the BVI’s and back she must be somewhat seaworthy. Does anyone have any more info on her?

The boat in BVI appeared to be a charter and I strongly doubt she was sailed across the sea - most charter boats arrive by big ship.

I would sail VERY conservatively in that boat!

I would build an inside helm station so nobody could see me sailing.

I forgot to mention, this thing has been on the market for quite some time. It was listed when we started our boat search around 8 or 9 months ago.
