44 ft trimaran - bow net or extended pulpit?
Trying to decide if I shall have bow net or extend the pulpit further back. Wonder how much the extension would interfear with the sails. Pros on pulpit is I would have something more to grab.

Hank on sails or furler(s)?
If hank on, netting helps keep the sail on deck when you make sail changes. Extending the pulpit will also add weight up forward, so if keeping it light is a priority for you, then net would be the way to go.

It's a 44ft performance cruising trimaran.
The weight difference /netting, fittings/ is not much difference to a extended pulpit I guess.
Got a furler.

Pulpit gives you something to stabilize yourself. Helpful not just in a fall, but also if you need to hand-over-hand a line managing a dinghy, bridle, or secondary rode. A bow net is more likely to get in the way.

Net running from top of pulpit to upper bow of float and down pulpit support to deck rail.

Nets , I feel is mandatory for safety and gathering sails, and very nice to lay on in hot weather

Both really.
Nets have more utility than just as a safety device, and the lack of a pulpit means there isn't anything to grab onto while working on the bow. They do different things.
Just as an example take a look at the Rapido 60. Their pulpit comes back past where the bow nets start by a good couple of feet. Then you have the bow nets further back.

We have both and I’d not do without either.

Re: 44 ft trimaran - bow net or extended pulpit?
Maybe I wasn't very clear, but I have a pulpit today. The question was more if I would extend it further aft.
Because it's a bow net we are discussing, I assume it wouldn't be very comfy to relax at. Needs pretty big holes. At least 30x30mm?
The tri is an "open wing" design, so we have huge comfy trampolines there with 13x13mm.
