2000 leopard 38 sailing cat

I haven't had the boat long and need to come out of the water on a slip that only has a bridge deck retreivable set up.My question is ! Is it safe to pull the boat out in this manner when the only supports will be running Paralell to the hulls and I'm guessing the length of the bridge deck.if so how far apart do the rails need to be and how long? There are ribs running Paralell to the hulls at intervals towards the stern of the boat!
Thanks for your assistance.

I believe I read somewhere in the leopard manual they are not to be supported by the the bridge deck alone. The hulls after all are quite heavy, bridgedeck is designed to be supported by the hulls not the otherway around. If the boat weighed alot less then maybe. Best answer call Bob Ross in Ft Lauderdale at Leopard/ moorings and he can answer. 1 800-850-4081

Fear not... Absolutely no problem to haul out by bridge deck alone. look in your owner manual at the diagram on where to chock.
It is done all the time !

Unfortunately after checking owners manual it stated how to retrieve by slings and sitting on keels. Stating do not lift by support beams running parelell to hulls under bridge deck! Not stating whether you can use flat beds running parelell to support beams and inside hulls for slipping purposes.
Cheers for your help!

I imagine the reason they say not to use the "longitudinal supports" is that they are wave breakers, not structural members, thus very lightly built. I believe it's fine to use the horizontal panels, but as someone else has said, if in doubt, call Bob Ross.

You will also find lots of other L38 owners with experience on the Leopard Cats Yahoo Group.

Cheers,
Tim

Take it to Boatworks and use the sea lift (if you are anywhere near brisbane)
