You Can Own the 'H.M.S. Bounty' . . . No, Really!

It's hard to believe, I know, but for those looking for something truly unique in a monohull, how about the H.M.S. Bounty ? Of course, this isn't the original Bounty - Fletcher Christian and his mates torched her after they reached Pitcairn - but it's the original reproduction that was built for the Marlon Brando film version (1962) of "Mutiny on the Bounty." It was built from the original plans in possession of the British Admiralty, but increased in size by one-third to accommodate the film crew and their equipment.

I know there are those members who become irate when posts regarding vessels offered for sale don't include pictures and the asking price, so here you go:

H.M.S. Bounty

Be sure to check out the links in the menu bar at HMS Bounty, Replica,* For Sale (see screen shot, below) for lots of additional pics. Oh, yeah, the asking price is a mere:

$4,000,000

Why don't we all "band together" form a corporation to buy her?

Imagine the fun we could have!

Does Indy only keep to "local waters" so far as the internet is concerned? Cool thread, took forever to get through. A lot of good stuff when all added up, bits lots of the same.
Anyway, back to this thread , already in progress...

How many hands to crew that thing , easily?

I have sailed on the Bounty. It is a fun boat. 100 feet above the water doing 10 knots. No other feeling like it

Not to highjack the thread--but--

HMS Pickle was one of many (reportedly) fast schooners, but called sloops-of-war, that were built here in Bermuda for the Royal Navy. The local Cedar, Juniperus Bermudiana, is very Teredo resistant, light and strong, and was popular as a boat building material.
Sells for about $60 bd ft nowadays.

It has gained a digit since last for sale about 10 years ago!
