I have an '82
Yanmar 3GMD in good shape for its age...and I'd like to keep it that way. Operationally, I usually
cruise it at about 2000 - 2400
rpm and when shutting it down run it for a few minutes at idle, run it up to burn off unused
fuel, then pull the shut off (just like the manual says). The manual says little other than it's rated for 22.5 hp @ 3600
rpm and my question is, should my cruising rpm's be 80% of 3600 (2880) or something else?
