Yacht survey, Morgan 45

Hi,
Is there anyone near St Peterburg, Florida that would be willing to look at a yacht for me? It doesnt have to be a proper out of water survey but as near as possible, and tell me what you think. I willing to pay depending on your credentials and thouroughness of report.
Thanks, Steve
P.S. would also welcome any advice on a 1983 Morgan 45. All opinions welcome.

Not sure which marina but its a dark blue boat being sold by National Liquidators if that helps. I'd love to know more about it. I'm very dubious.

Yes, that is the one. We had a boat at Maximo Marina a while back. I only saw it from a distance and it looked like a pretty nice example. The pictures don't look too bad either.

Thanks for the reply. After much prodding the brokers finally coughed up the info I was after. The boat is a bank repo, they cant say if it's an excharter or not (this probably means it was), they cant supply inventory (dont think it even has a mainsail) and in their own words "..it's in pretty rough shape." Thats all I need to know to stay well away from it. Just goes to show yo that pics dont mean a thing! The search continues. At least I did'nt spend a dime pursuing it.
Thanks for your imput though.

Re: Yacht survey, Morgan 45

From what I've managed to gather the boat probably wouldnt be able to cross tha Pacific anyway and thats a dealbreaker for me. So oh well, I still have my cash, and cash is king!

If by "the brokers" you mean you talked to the people at National Liquidators. I have had several dealings with them over the years and found them to be pretty straight up about what they are selling and will tell you everything they know about the boat and its condition. Quite often a boat lands on their doorstep from a bank or finance co. and they don't know much about it's history.

Ok fair enough, I've just quickly grown to distrust boat brokers 9 or people selling boats on commision. Anyway I'm a mistrusting type, I've been burnt far too many times.
And what/who are "Dirt Poeple"?
