Re: Whitby 45

I have attached an image of Guycokie at the dock in Newcastle ON. I owned the boat for less than a year before you bought it. The boat is rock solid and tracks like locomotive on rails. Loved it, but alas moved to Florida and bringing the boat wasn't in the cards.

Re: Whitby 45

Thanks for pic sailor Dave
Any idea what happened to Bimini/dodger that was to be on the boat?
Also, did you know that Sim (original owner) passed away last fall?

Re: Whitby 45

The bimini and dodger were left on the boat. They were in very rough shape and needed replacement when we had the boat. Sim's broker may have removed them for cosmetic reasons for selling. Sure hope you enjoy the boat. Hope you addressed the stuffing box which was leaking and bildge pumps that needed attention!

Re: Whitby 45

Is this the same Zenith that was in Bayfield, Wisconsin for many years? If so I think she was dark green then and is the same boat as Maria which I referenced in post #2 in this thread.

Yes we bought her from Bob Bruce and had a great trip back to Ma. i painted her 2 years ago never really liked the green color and it was definately in need. Great sailing boat for sure we are hauling this week to do do more work on the rudder and soft spots on the deck.

Re: Whitby 45

Hello

I sailed numerous times on Zenith (formerly Maria II). I was the starboard watch captain when we won the trans superior a few years ago.

You've got a great vessel there.

later I can describe our rational behind the rudder and boom modifications.
