Which One

Considering the purchase of two different Beneteau models. Each have advantages however I thought it would be good to hear from others:

423 model year 2003, Volvo D2-55. Gen set Bow thruster and in overall good condition. The boat has spent her life in Salt Water

461model year 1999. Yanmar 4JH2HTE (75 hp) Clean fresh water boat Great Lakes. 10k less than the 423.

I like the bright light interior of the 423. I like the Farr hull design of the 461.

423 has tinned electrical wire 461 copper.

I like the bigger interior and longer water line of the 461. I like the modern design of the 423.

423 deck stepped 461 Keel steppes.

I believe that both sail well however I am sure others will have good input.

Both boats require similar upgrades however the bow thruster on the 423 is most appealing.

Bring on the comments and make me think

Re: Which One

I’d go with the 46 for the longer waterline and better diesel.

Re: Which One

I'm no expert on those two, but based solely on what you have written, I agree with DSDman, the 461 sounds like the better choice.
But there must be other, equally important, criteria to consider, no?
BTW, I just had a look, are you sure the 423 has a deck-stepped mast?

Re: Which One

Steve Dashew, a man of considerable wisdom, wrote some years ago that one should buy the longest waterline that one could afford... and I agree with him, and the two posts above.
