I have mine also-- a Bristol 38.8. I wouldn't turn up my nose at a Morris 45 (see below) or a Cherubini Ketch, but I'll never be rich enough. I would also consider a Seawind 41 catamaran, but those don't qualify as classics quite yet.

Yeah they are nice ..do they not put lifelines on them because they are "Day sailors"? or are they not finished out?DVC

The headsails sweep the deck with no gap. Better sailing, as long as you don't fall out The M-42 that the link shows is somewhere around $1M so I hope they finish them!

I went back and read the info ..Lifelines are an option..at 1 million I would of thought they would have been standard...and solid gold..DVC

They don't even have hand holds on the Friendship! The Morris is self tacking and both have clean decks so I guess you don't often have to go out there.

If you can afford this then youcan afford the bubbly that goes with it......and who need hand holds after two bottles of bubbly....you just crawl around on all fours!!!!!

Well if we're talking daysailers then the Hinckley DS 42 does it for me.

I already own her! - Allied 39' Sloop, the design was later sold and became the Hinkley 41 with an extended stern.
Check out the pics at www.allied39.blogspot.com She is ready to go again, after I did some further refitting (ie: all new thru-hulls, new chainplates and hardware, etc..) being the third owner now she has many sea mile under her keel and many more still to come. The nicest lines of any boat ever built (I think anyway)...
