What's Your Dream Boat ?

If you could own any older sailboat, let's say between 35' and 45', fully refurbished and in mint condition, what would it be and why?

A Formosa 51' ketch. Sweet lines, great layout and a beautiful transom. In the sizes you mentioned, it would be a Vagabond 42' ketch for the same reasons. Just beautiful.

Cabo Rico 38 without question. Oh wait... We just bought one (1987 hull 115) and are about as smokin' happy as any boat owner has a right to be.

Fisher 46

But I would need to be somewhere that water did not dissapear from twice a day .........ideally out cruising with a "1 other" onboard........

Or one of these:-

Nordic Folkboat (the one on the left)........I have always had a weakness for pretty, entirely impractical and that also goes a bit

Re: What's your dream boat?

Aft cockpit pilot house Corbin with the interior completely gutted and redone to my own quirky, expensive-as-hell specs

Something along these lines, but with way nicer cabinetry instead of that awful white stuff

Re: What's your dream boat?

I bought my 1986 Nonsuch 30 Ultra in 1995 and have not felt the need to look at another boat since. Including a bigger Nonsuch. I can single hand it easily and don't need a crew that sits around and just drinks my beer. If I had a sailing companion I might step up to a 33 or 36 but, that would be the only reason to go bigger. But, along with that would come bigger expenses.

Re: What's your dream boat?

My dream is more time on my own boat and my fantasies seem to involve women! That said I never have trouble finding boats that are worth a second look. This is pretty cool: View Boat Photos - YachtWorld.com

1971-75 Tartan 41, or a Tashiba 40 or a brand new Sabre 456, or a J/65 if I could have anything in the world.
