They are amazing looking, and that's how they are best enjoyed... From far away looking.

After a good number of local races I got invited to go to The NA championship, or worlds or something with the guy who wound up winning. I decided to break my own legs as a less painful option.

All done now, just waiting for spring weather to paint the decks. Repaired all rot in boat for about 12k all up, in less than 6 months part time.

Bad boat, You're kidding right? I have never had a bad boat, but the boat/s have had a bad owner. I am finishing a three year re-fit of Vigah. Great boat, but I can't say much for the owner. If taken care of I venture to say most any boat will last a long long time. I am sure that if life didn't get in the way, etc. that there would not have been the need for a re-fit. It would be convenient to blame the boat, but really!!!!

I guess I've been lucky, or not owned enough boats yet, but I haven't owned a bad one yet.
The few I have owned have several times had me wondering "what were they thinking" or "wonder what kind of drugs were they on" about the designers / builders.

I have still yet to fathom the desire to tie wrap everything together every 6", then enclose the wires / hoses so that the tie wraps cannot be reached to replace the hose.

I'm with CSYman here, No Boat is Bad, Just Some Better Than Others...

A small Zodiac inflatable. The wooden transom rotted out in less than three years. Zodiac refused to repair it under warranty. They said fresh water did it. Apparently, the transoms in their boats aren't waterproof.

So - $1500 down the drain. Worst boat I have ever had.

BTW: Anyone near Charleston, SC want to buy it cheap? All it needs is a new transom.

My worst boat was great! It was a 1969 Whitney 30 Sparkman & Stephens design that we bought in 1971 and first moved aboard. We sold in in 1973 when we decided to buy a boat that I could stand up straight inside.
