Re: What Type of sailboat is this?

It looks like it might be a Reinell 27. If the mast and standing rigging look undersized and it has a Volvo saildrive the likelihood increases.

Re: What Type of sailboat is this?

Looks like a Cal 28, look at the V.I.N and the first three letters will tell you the manufacturer, or it could be one of the thirty of so models made by Columbia using Cal molds after Columbia was bought by Cal, either way it is a classic,

Re: What Type of sailboat is this?

The cabin ports aren't right for a Cal 28 but are for a Cal 25.

Re: What Type of sailboat is this?

This is positively the funniest thread I have ever read on this forum.

One picture has resulted in maybe 16 identifications in as many posts, from the obviously wrong (storeboro 33, Buccaneer, Cheoy Lee, Reinell 27) to the somewhat possible. Only cattar seems to be on the right track - need more photos.

It has portholes on the side, so it must be.

Re: What Type of sailboat is This?

Looks a lot like a Cal 25, 27, or 28 depending on the length. I believe all three came in a flush deck. More photos pls.

Buicks had either three or four holes, this looks like it only has two. Anyway, this one can't be a Buick, not nearly enough chrome.

It's a project. One could even describe it by adapting a recent ad for a '49 Roadmaster:

What you see is it (sic) nice body underside They say the engine ran 3 yrs ago...Great boat to use with your rusty boat to build a nice boat"

Until I can get to marina to ask my buddy Chip what make his boat is.... My vote would also be an old Columbia.

Re: What Type of sailboat is This?

It's a Cal 25. Compare with this one that is in much better shape and has toe rails added.
