I suspect
wheel steering may be future grounds for me not keeping the boat I am in the process of
buying (even though it is my ideal size at 32ft, and I like the layout - well, it's about the same as nearly all boats tbh, beds in the pointy end,
toilet handy for in the night, inadequate cupboards close by, seaty bit, cooky bit, then stairs up to work, with another sleepy bit at the bottom of the stairs too).
I wonder if it is horribly expensive to convert one to tiller? Must look into that.
Best of luck with the boat selling boaty. I haven't got a clue what you should be asking for it. The seller of mine was asking a reasonable amount, so I wasn't cheeky, I offered a bit more than a couple not quite as nice went for (worked out at 20% off the asking), and that got a satisfactory response with us meeting in the middle, subject to
survey and sea trial (so leeway left still).
TBH though, what some of the others are expecting to get for what aren't exactly well kept boats, I'd start with an offer at maybe even more than 75% off the asking
price. There's a heck of a lot that obviously haven't had any TLC lavished on them since 2008.
