What kind of boat is this?

Came across an add for a vessel I had never heard of. Does anyone have any info on them?

here is what I have found
https://voilesetvoiliers.ouest-franc...ujolais-12-25/

They seem to be an owner builder or at least owner completion kit type vessel.

Re: What kind of boat is this?

seems that this French naval architect is pretty well-known in france, died in 1991
La flottille de Philippe Harlé

checked a sister ship that was constructed to plans

French, aluminum.

At least the hulls were built by a commercial yard.
The same designer as the Garcia Passoa and a number of other Garcias.

Re: What kind of boat is this?

Le Beaujolais 12,25 m et le Beaujolais 10,10 m, 2 dériveurs lestés ont été construits par le chantier Chaventré aux Sables d'Olonne

The Beaujolais 12,25 m and the Beaujolais 10,10 m, 2 aluminium centreboards (?), were constructed by Chaventré yard in Sables d'Olonne.

and, of course, being French, all of the boat plans he created were named after alcoholic beverages (wine, spirits) except for one, which was designed for a sailing school. in the list below, the Sangria stands out. i see these around here and there in france. the french love them

La plupart des plans de cet architecte portent un nom de vin ou d'alcool; une exception, le Pschitt, un nom de boisson non alcoolisée... pour un dériveur d'école de voile.

Well Dang! If that's Joshua, then my memory is buggered (again!). We spent some while in company with her in the SOC back in the late 80s, and I remember her as round bilge and very rough. I'm quite sure about the rough, guess I was wrong about the chines!

Apologies.

Jim

Jim.. That is supposed to be a replica Joshua but I remember him writing about her in the S Ocean and that he found he could let her run free settled on her side..
Thats what led me to believe she was chined.

Re: What kind of boat is this?

I've never seen her, but I believe Joshua was round bilge. Her construction was one of the hinges that convinced him to go steel. "No corners for rust to start". He wrote about the boiler factory bending the hoop frames.
