How are the costs in maintenance for a boat that size? I was looking at parts and equipment and it seems that from 30 to 36, 38 and 40 the prices just jump disproportionally.

I was looking at the 323 and i liked those but too much sailboat for me being a beginner?

I heard someone said "if you are going to err, err on the side of a Pearson 323"?

That i could not go wrong?

Just looking at all of my options! thanks! for the far future...

I am going small to start with per everybody's suggestions?

Thanks!

Re: What compares to a Pearson 32, 323?

So the Perason 323 has a "long fin" keel (as opposed to modern deep but narrow fins) and a skeg hung rudder. Looks good to me, the traditionalist. But why is the propeller put between the keel and the skeg rather than into a cut-out within the skeg? It looks like an invitation for floating things to foul the propeller...?
