Sounds like a totally do-able plan to me. I wish you all the best. Our chosen tip would be to buy a well designed hull that will be strong and sail well then do all the work getting it ready and safe yourself. Everything that needs work contributes to you getting it for a good price and also contributes to you having faith in your boat when it matters. Best example new rigging chosen and fitted by you is worth it's weight in gold. All the best with your choices. There's loads of brilliant opportunities out there for you!
