The Maltese Falcon pictured in this thread goes to wind quite well; it uses a revolutionary Dynarig (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Ma...yacht)#DynaRig) and I watched it leave the docks in Antigua and go pretty much to weather with no engine propulsion at all - it was very, very impressive to watch.

And I think perhaps I should correct myself, one could argue this is square rigged not junk rigged.

I've seen this boat in person too.

Sails just fine. Looks bigger in pics than real life though. Still huge, but pictures make it look like an aircraft carrier.

Well, I am just going by the article, and you could very well be right, perhaps they are referring to the yards, not the masts, and just don't know the difference:
"The yacht, named after the eponymous novel and film, was built by Perini Navi, an Italian firm that installed the DynaRig technology that electronically trims the sails in the direction of the wind and can furl them into the masts in just six minutes." Anybody out there seen them furl the sails?
