Westerly Pageant / Centaur vs Snapdragon 26

Have someone experiences for say me: what is the diferents between Westerly Pageant ( West. Centaur ) and Snapdragon 26 in sailing. I want buy one from thiss boats and I don’t no what to choise.

Ralf, due to the age of either of these boats, the condition of a particlular example will probably be the deciding factor. Both are bilge keel yachts which will be useful for taking the gound in Brittany. If you still need the mast lowering facility then you will have to devise a frame because the mast on a Centaur is starting to get a bit big for lifting up an down.

The Centaur is probably the better known with 3000 built and considerd a safe yacht. One called "pipe Dream" did the Azores and back single handed two years ago.

The Westerlies, Pentlands and Centaurs are the better sailers... a strongly built well designed if not the most pretty boat on the water with better accomodation... space..
Friends of mine have sailed down to and cruised the Med in a Centaur... they were in thier '50's at the time... a cheerful couple who had a ball...

The Pageant is 4 foot shorter than the Centaur and Snapdragon.......

I recommend the Westerly's - but it is the condition of a specific boat that is most important.
