We are back!!!
By back I mean we are (well almost) proud owners of another sailboat. We sailed our 10 meter Peirson from Florida to Australia and then sold her there. We have been boatless (thank God for friends with boats!) since December. Now we have found a 44 Gulfstar '83 and are in the process of buying her. We are so excited!! Months of work need to go into her but she seems like the boat of our dreams. Two years until the youngest is in college and we can really leave but Bahamas are only 56 miles away. My husband and I are estatic to say the least!! Any other Gulfstar owners out there? Would love to hear from you.

I think you'll find a few Gulfstar owners here. Always nice to start a new set of problems after losing your boat. Welcome to your new home and of course all the folks here want to welcome you back and hope we can help with your new home.

Thanks, Gord
We appreciate the links (Captain Elie, here. Commodore Linda is in bed). We have to replace ports, paint the stick, put in a windlass, and do a bunch of other (mostly cosmetic) work, and to hear from others who have gone before us will be great! Will be going to survey on the 17th, but have crawled all over her and would be surprised to find a deal killer. It's so nice to even contemplate being back on the water after 5 months! It's funny how, even that you know better, the feeling of excitement and possibility overwhelms when a new boat is in the picture!
May you have 15 on the stern, and flat seas!
