I have had my Pretorian for 18 years and love her. I've put 16000 miles on her since I bought her, most of which were
singlehanding and off shore. They didn't call Pretorians the "Swans of France" for nothing. And as to the ability to point, I always enjoy dropping the main when sailors are with me that are unfamiliar with the Pretorians. I sheet in the
head sail hard which allows me to sail so close to the
wind that I can then drop the traveler and release the main sheet and the main luffs. I then casually drop the main and fold it while sailing to weather! I love to see the expression on my sailing friends faces when I do.
