Water heater

Has anyone replaced the hot water heater on a Hunter 34? I need to know how to bleed the lines from the engine to the hot water heater.

Re: Water heater

Not a Hunter,

But just replaced mine on a Sunbeam 44. I had no need to bleed the refrigerant lines from the engine, but did lose a little with the replacement. Once they were hooked up, I just topped off the coolant levels to the engine.

Good luck

Re: Water heater

You simply remove the lines from the engine to the heater, they'll have coolant in them. Once the heater is re-installed and the hoses reconnected, you may have to burp the engine to abvoid over heatin ghte engine because of an air bubble in the those lines.

Each engine is different, this is how we do ours:

Many engines just unscrew the petcock on the top of the thermostat and rev the engine to push out the air.

Re: Water heater

Thanks for the replies. It looks like it is easier than I thought.
