want a faster boat...and more

Just got back from sailing in the Baltic sea off of Sweden for a week. I was on a great boat, LINJETT 34. It's speed helps push me to wanting a new boat. It's design is good in the Baltic, might not be so in the Caribbean.
To the question. Ideas about a monohull, around 40 ft, give or take, that is fast and can carry a wind gen, solar panels, dinghy davits and be lived on? I have a Storebro that does all of this but is slow. Built in '83 so is heavy.

Nothing slow about boats from '83 - necessarily. Don't limit yourself to any particular age. The trick is finding a quick boat that can carry the load of the contemporary gadget addicted cruiser.

Re: want a faster boat...and more

We have a friend with a Saga 43 that seems to meet the criteria you're mentioned. It's a Robert Perry design that our friend cruises to Maine or races when he's at the club in Connecticut. He may have even managed to beat us once, but the wind must have been really flukey that day. Plenty of room, but not difficult to manage short-handed.
