Transporting a boat

Can anyone reccomend a company to transport a boat for a small amount of money? If not are there any other creative options to get a boat from the east coast to the midwest cheaply?

Sail/power the boat there. Should be doable in 2-3 weeks. You can take a boat with moderate draft up the Erie Canal and then sail the Lakes to your destination. Other than that there is no 'Cheap' way to transport a boat unless you have your own tractor and a flatbed. Of course, if the boat is small enough to be legally trailered behind a passenger vehicle, you do it yourself.

I can suggest a VERY professional and reasonable company. Try Independent Boat Haulers out of Eliot, Maine. They have a great rig to haul the boat.

These guys are amazing at what they do. They handle the boats with the utmost care. I used them for several years to haul my boat out for the winter to store in my yard.

I don't have the contact info, but a Google or yellow pages search will do it.
