Question Trailor sailor

I'm interested in a (used)Trailor Sailor, 22-26ft, I'll be sailing/stayovers in the Gulf, N.W. coast of Fl.
I was looking at the Ventures/ 26D's & S's, I dont plan on any Bluewater, but would like to point 270M from Keaton Beach and hit Dog Island, 60mi. passage, a good days sail, and then hangout for a few days around the Gulf Isalnds, and then return. So a Daggerboard/Swing keel would be prefered.
anyone have suggestions? this is gonna be my 1st sailboat, and I don't want to leave it 70mi. away, thus Trailor Sailor!

sonnyglide1,
lostmt has a good suggestion. I sailed my Venture 23 from Philadelphia to Sea Isle City NJ. It took days. 60 mi. is a good long day sail or power. With a 26 and a large outboard planning, yes you can make it in a few hours. Sailing it would be a long trip. I trailered my boat from Philadelphia to Sea Isle a few times. The boat did not want to stop going 60 mph.

ive got a 26x,it has the 50 yam on the back, with 4 x 6 gallon tanks i have a range of over 100nm at 6 knots cruising, that range can be extended by motorsailing and if i need the speed to get somewhere fast,it sits comfortably at 10 knots,it can do 16knots but you do get througha lot of gas very quickly.

A lot depends on whether you want a marina bound boat that is occasionally transportable on a trailer, or a genuine trailer-sailor that generally lives on the trailer and goes in the water on those occasions when you want to use it – of course if you have a nice big dually it could be the same boat…

Sixty nm. shouldn’t be anything too adventurous in that general size… ours does about 80-90 nm. per 24 with a filthy bottom (18ft on the WL) and about 10% better when clean, so clean, modern boats should easily do that… In any case, there are numerous options depending on what you want to achieve: your general budget is key (?), headroom, number in crew, draft, whatever… not too fond of moveable “keel” appendages, but there are of course several options in that size as well…

Check out a Dolphin 24. The owner's website is dolphin24.org. Dolphins are a solid boat, fast for their size, 2'10" draft/ 5'2" with c/board down, and trailerable.
