Trailer Replacement Help

My beat up, rusty old trailer finally gave out. Axel snapped like a twig. My problem is this, the trailer that came with the boat is actually made by the boat company and.....they don't make it anymore. I have searched everwhere, bit no one seems to have a real answer on a replacement. I know they are out there, as I've seen pics of my boat model with new trailers. I guess the people who have gotten a replacement haven't bothered to help out those who are searching.

Anyway....my boat (don't hiss) is a 1997 Macgregor 26 X. If anyone has any information on a manufactuer and model for a compatible trailer, please help me. I am going to the boat today to take VERY detailed measurements so I'll be armed with better information.

Thanks for any information.

Have you searched for Macgregor owners forums on the internet?. I believe there were a lot of these built maybe there are owners groups of some sort who could help or look around marina park/ storage areas maybe youl see a Macgegor or similar boat on a trailer and get the information. Most trailers have adjustable supports which can fit several different boats once adjusted correctly.
Good luck,
Steve

You don't need a trailer provided by the boat manufacturer. There are plenty of boat trailer companies out there that could fit your boat. I would start with a Google search.

BTW - Looking at that trailer in the ad I linked - It's not that complex a trailer. We have a macgregor here and while I haven't inspected the trailer in detail it seems pretty basic.

I bet any trailer maker could put one together for you. Now the price - as I found out in my dirt biking days - may not be palatable.
