Re: Topping Lift Line Replacement - Oday 30

Don't use wire for a topping lift. The wire will abrade the stitching and cloth on the leech over time and cost you money for repairs and/or a new sail. The new synthetics are stronger than wire and cheaper especially if you do the splices yourself.

Re: Topping Lift Line Replacement - Oday 30

After owning a Boomkicker, if I purchased a boat with a topping lift, I'd ditch it immediately.

They recommend the model 1000 for your boat.

Thumbs up Re: Topping Lift Line Replacement - Oday 30

Why not get rid of it altogether and install a rigid boomvang? Many advantages, and the right one(garhauer or boomkicker) is bulletproof, easily installed, and cheap.
