To the Marquesas, and Beyond . . .

Aloha Pura and Tao,
I have come to the conclusion that a "bluewater, open ocean, offshore vessel" is one in which a sailor accidentally survives to return to port.
I guess I'm a bit more overly cautious.

Many moons ago, when I was about 18, I sailed aboard a comfortable 40+ foot sloop from England to Copenhagen via the Kiel Canal.

One of the other British boats that pulled into the Skovshoved Yacht Club was an open, clinker built gaff rigged dory with two hirsute young men. They too had crossed the English Channel, traversed the Canal and sailed up the Baltic.

We sailed. They were sailors, and I will always remember them.
