Surveyor Rhode Island area??

I'm looking for recommendations a surveyor with experience on fiberglass sailboats in the RI area.

I would prefer someone with a boat building, repair or rigging background and who is a sailor as well.

Hoping to hear from anyone with positive first hand experiences of an honest, knowledgeable and diligent person..

thanks.

Jeff Stone. I used him and was good with the survey. You can check him out at the above link.

Thumbs up Re: Surveyor Rhode Island area??

I used Jeff Stone as well. He was great. He found a hard to find structural problem with a bulkhead that would have cost a bundle to fix. He was very thorough throughout and I had an accurate picture of the boat we puchased. I highly recommend Jeff.
Good luck.

I would also highly recommend Capt. Jim Dias. He surveyed the Endeavour 37 that I recently purchased and he is very thorough and knowledgible. Jim's home office is in Guilford, CT. He covers NY to RI. In addition to his sailboat knowledge, he is also very knowledgible on diesel engines and does a thorough analysis, including an oil analysis when necessary.

Another vote for Jeff Stone. He surveyed a boat for me three years ago and did an excellent job.

I have to put in another vote for Jeff Stone. I recently used him when surveying a 52 footer that had been on the hard for several years. I have purchased and surveyed several boats before ad Jeff was unequivocally the most thorough surveyor I have used.

I've had good experience (two boat purchases) with Tony Theriault: Theriault Marine Consulting - Marine Surveys & Yacht Services - Maine marine surveyor, consultant Tony Theriault.

He's in Maine but I believe he works all over New England.

Re: Surveyor Rhode Island area??

I asked the owner of a local boatyard in RI who he would use if he were buying a boat and he said Matt Jamison or Bill Coble.
