Re: Suggestions for a CC Bluewater boat

I’ve got more than 40000 nautical miles under the keel of a Vagabond Westwind 42 over 25+ years. I’ve been on her in tropical storms and pretty heavy weather and it is a heck of a boat. It will certainly take more than the crew can (or wants to). Big, roomy, heavy and slow but GREAT offshore (especially with the generator running, the AC on, the ice maker cranking out ice and the bread maker humming along in the galley). I cruise between 4 and 5 knots under a reefed main and genoa or between 6 and 7 with the help of the Yanmar. Big queen sized stateroom aft with a little vanity for the admiral. 3 staterooms and two heads. Great, sturdy boat that will get you home.
