Southern Cross 31 vs Westsail 32 vs ? - Opinions ?

I know both of these boats have been round the world and are very capable.

Have not been on either, but I have been on a WS 28.

There is a Southern Cross 31 and a Westsail 32 a few hours from me, and at a price I can soon afford.

I have got a lot of advice on the WS, but any opinions or advice on the SC?

Either boat better then the other?

26 months till the world trip begins...

I haven't seen either of the ones you are looking at so it wouldn't be fair for me to comment. I've sailed on a WS 32 and have a friend who is redoing a Southern Cross. I would compare condition and price. Southern Cross should be cheaper. Some West Sail were home finished and may not be up to great standard or they may be way above great standard. You really have to go check them out.
Get a marine survey before you buy.
kind regards,

I would look at the Southern Cross 35, which won't be that much more expensive than the Westsail. I like Tom Gilmer's designs.
