There are quite a few out there. Fast has a lot to do with the guy sailing it. Plus when you start talking about crossing oceans it changes the game a bit as far as fast is concerned:

A kittiwake is small, capable and rather inexpensive...The Bristol mentioned above seems to fit the bill...cheap anyways...

???

Maybe none. Is you question a joke? Or is it a riddle?

I have seen an IF, (asking USD 3,060.57) an a Havsfidra (asking USD 1,530.28) recently. Of the two, I would go for the IF.

HOWEVER, as the askings were at the lowest limits of the models' price ranges, I assume it might be either difficult or (more probably) impossible to get a boat offered at the lower limit of the model's price range into the 'seaworthy' mod before hitting the 10k mark (or thereabouts).

FAST? Did you say fast?

Maybe none.

How fast, anyways? An IF is a fast boat, relatively.

Morgan 30 Sailboat
If that's not a typo on the Morgan 30 for $2,300 and those images weren't BEFORE the hurricane drove it up onto the rocks you're not going to beat that!

Catamaran... Tiki 21 Has circumnavigated.
Mono... Hurley 22... Tough enough to survive Dec gales in the Biscay..
Can pick up either of the above sail away for around £3K.

I've actually been on that boat. It's on Naval Station Norfolk. It was for 5K then. The engine (atomic 4) runs.

Re: Small, fast and cheap ocean going sailboat

I don't think you could get much of a sewothy boat for that kind of money. Unless you were very handy. Look up the Vancover 27. I remember seeing one of these on the Chesapeake for not a lot of $$. Needed interior to be completely redone and sails. Great boat. I was going to build one years ago. Still have the set of plans. I bought a cheap Krogen 38'er that is a complete restore, but I love the work and have,tools/shop.time.
