Shower/Head Combinations

Does anyone know of a company that makes a shower/head enclosure for small sailboats?

I'd be surprised if you find anything. Boats are too different to make a one size fits all interior item.

Thanks, this validates why I wasn't able to find anything thus far.

I suppose I just keep poking around trying to find pics of other installs to get ideas.

I vow to install a "real" shower in the cockpit, maybe a simple clever canvas surround that can be quickly dropped and stowed. Most sailboats sport lousy showers in the head that usually are more trouble than they are worth.

Found any photos yet? I'd be interested to see some solutions, as I am currently looking to buy and equip a small cruiser

Re: Shower/Head Combinations

many boats 35-38 ft use the toilet for the shower stall.
formosas have separate shower and head combo--with curtain and bulkhead between ...
some have bathtubs in aft cabin(peterson 44)(morgan 44, some 1979)
many different combinations. good luck finding yours...might be something you need to invent...
all the brokerages have included pix of galley, head, shower, main saloon, bedrooms. most brokerages are online.

Re: Shower/Head Combinations

If you dont mind a canvas enclosure, use dacron or spinnaker cloth/ material.
A frequently used shower is always damp and sometimes an area of mildew growth.
You could just remove the the sail material when it gets dirty and scrub it with simplegreen and your set!
hope this helps....

Re: Shower/Head Combinations

most jeuneu (excuse my spelling) have showers built into the aft at the the top of the steps so you can wash off after a swim!

Re: Shower/Head Combinations

I have a new (never used) camp shower enclosure I'll send you for the cost of postage. It's somewhere in my garage. Seemed like good idea at the time but never used it. You can hang it from a halyard and use it on deck, or from your boom and use it in the cockpit. Use it with a solar shower or garden sprayer type shower. PM me and I'll make arrangements.

Google "camp shower enclosure" and you'll see some products.

Up until a boat is a certain size there's not usually enough space to put in a sump assembly, especially fin keel boats. I just went through that with a 40' racer. Ended up installing an electronic drain.

Took a prefab'd shower base and built the head around it.
