She's in the Water

My boat was launched Easter monday.I only motored about 100yds to put in her slip, and it sure felt good. She's 41 yrs old and fired up right away. iam still a little green as a sailor, but when i managed to to bring her in to
tie up i did so without even touching the dock, so iam pretty proud of me,aren't you...LOL

Nothing sweeter, than getting the feeling you got it right.

Well done

You are meant to smack the dock - it's good luck, or summit

Well, it's the way I was taught

Re: She's in the Water

Mine was put in two weeks ago and by the time I got her to my slip I had water pouring in from a cracked housing on the water pump and found she had twice as much oil as needed. Freeze plugs are intact but haven't gotten far enough to know if the block is cracked. So much for paying professionals to winterize and change the oil. But you're right, felt wonderful to have the wind in my hair on the water again even if for only a few minutes.
