Scrupulous Surveyor Required in Southern California

I am getting close to ending my 6-month boat-shopping marathon in which I have visited every major sailing port between Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and Vancouver, Canada; and have had boats inspected on the east coast and in Europe.

I may have found a very good blue water boat in Southern California...I hope!

But if any of you have strong recommendations about a quality surveyor here, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you.

Absolutely highly recommend Fritz at Pacific Offshore Rigging here in San Diego. The guy is top notch. Tell him Eric from Rebel Heart sent you.

Christian & Co in San Diego are highly recommended-http://www.themarinesurveyors.com/ . They are also on the Boat-US approved list.

Another vote towards Christian and company. Professional. Effective. thorough. I dealt with George Jarvie. +1.800.944.4789

Mike Pyzel in Santa Barbara. Surveys - Mike Pyzel

We didn't use him when we bought our boat, but I've got a copy of a survey he did a bit ago on a boat that I'm keen to take a whack at, and it's top notch work. Since we purchased our boat, I've discovered all the many things that our surveyor didn't actually verify were in working order other than by some sort of visual-empathic method. (The water heater looks to be in good shape, so it must work... and after four hours wedged into the lazarette it does!).

We've had several recommendations given to us, and he has topped the list. My aquisition of the new money-pit seems to have come off the rails, but should I manage to claw it back, I'm certainly going to have Mike do the survey.
