Sailing South Single-Handed Upper Chesapeake Bay to Manteo NC

With the Holiday Season over and cold weather looming on the horizon I decided to move S/V Corsair, my 1980 Cabo Rico 38, from Herring Bay, MD to her homeport in the Outer Banks for the rest of the winter. This video captures some of the first leg of the trip which was from Herrington Harbour South to Solomons Island.

Nice video. Although with the ominous music as you left Deale I expected a more lively trip. You're very lucky you left when you did. It was 10 degrees last night. Brrrr.

If you go through Solomon's again give Zahniser's a call. If you eat at the restaurant there you get a free slip overnight. Not bad for the price of a burger and a beer.

Suijin - thanks for the comments. Yeah the music was a bit over-dramatic for the conditions but i needed something that was 2:12 long and nautically related to cover that portion of the video and that was all I could come up with from my limited music library. The trip got a whole lot more exciting as I sailed south and I will post videos of each leg over the coming days.

Last Sunday was a layover day due to weather. I took a tour of Regent Point Marina (Near Deltaville, VA).

Here is the latest video which captures the 60nm leg from Regent Point Marina on the Rappahannock River to Tidewater Yacht Marina at Portsmouth, VA. The conditions were almost perfect and despite some drama due to an engine failure this was the highpoint of the voyage to date. I was lucky to catch some really nice video while flying down the Bay at speeds that often exceeded 8.5 knots. Check it out and subscribe to my YouTube channel if you'd like to sail along with S/V Corsair. Fairwinds!

Enjoying the videos. I did the trip from Deltaville to Oriental this past summer and it's great to see your version of the route.
