Arrow Safety Cruising List

I am looking for any check list other members might share. I am open to look at any list, simple or extensive.
I think check list are good and I am new and inexperienced.

The offshore racing community has extensive check lists.

We do not use a check list, but we check some things, like:

- is the boat watertight,
- is the mast attached to the boat,
- is the rudder attached to the hull,
- do we have sails,
- do we have charts and compass,
- do we have enough food and water,
- is the weather good to go,

I think every boat and sailor are a specific team so the lists will be very specific. Still, the basic will remain the same.

If you are looking for a list of safety equipment (as opposed to the safety of the boat itself) then there is one on the Caribbean 1500 website Cruising Rally Association | Offshore sailing - Adventure, Camaraderie, Competition . Not all of it strictly necessary but all of it nice to have.
