Rhapsody Owns Me!

Greetings to all!

I thought the title would help get readers.

Well, it would seem I'm now a boat owner, or as I heard once (and better said) it would seem the boat now owns me.

While looking all over online, I was researching a lot of different boats. I was reading a lot of opinions and seeing what issues some boats have and trying to consider size and cost and anything else I could think of.

I decided to go with a 1981 Nor'sea 27 named Rhapsody. She's a beauty! Could use some cleaning up but still not bad at all. It really is one heck of a feeling to spend so much money on something that will need a lot of work but I'm still happy. I think things will work out well with this one.

I started a blog to document things while I work on her and eventually get her out on the water. Rhapsody Blog

Thanks for looking,
Daniel

Few pics on the blog I just started but here's a few. Needs some cleaning up and a few projects. The topside is covered with leaves from nearby tree that all blew off once I got her on the road.

Enjoy!

Re: Rhapsody Owns Me!

Also, one of the first things I'm thinking of doing is taking out all the "Stuff" that way I can clean and organize the way I like. I'm looking forward to taking care of her.

She's a real beauty! Enjoy. Looks fully capable of taking care of you as well.

Gorgeous, although she might sail better if you stick the mast into that big hole on the top.

May she enjoy fair winds!

Re: Rhapsody Owns Me!

Congrats Dan. A friend of mine sailed his Nor Sea 27 to Mexico, then Hawaii and back here. He loved it. He's on a Tayana 37 now sailing around the world. He spoke quite highly of the NS 27's comfort.

Interesting interior layout.... looks just like a Ranger 26 (Kent) I looked at recently.

At one time, I considered a Cape Dory 27 as there was more room to move around down below but something about the Nor'sea 27 looks a lot better to me. Both boats I found to have good reviews and not full of issues like a lot of other production boats. From what I read, they're built to last.

I'll be happy working on getting her cleaned up and ready for the next adventure.
