Replace/Repair Teak Cubby above Lazarette

Due to the age of my C&C 30 sailboat, the wood on the interior of the cubby has given way and water now goes into the bilge below. I have temporary covers [duct tape!] on each small cubby, but I would like to either replace or repair them. I am also considering simply building a piece of teak to cover them permanently.
Has anyone replaced/repaired their cubbies and if so, what methods did you use?
TIA - Tom

Typically these had plywood boxes that would delaminate. Remove them and rebuild; coat with epoxy and paint.
