Recommendation for Engine Surveyor or Mechanic in Sea/Tac area

I'm interested in a late 90's 40+ ft monohull which has a Yanmar engine with over 8000 hrs. First question is I'm looking for a recommendation for a marine engine surveyor/mechanic in the Seattle/Tacoma WA area. Second question is more general about expected life span of a marine diesel engine (knowing full well that this a classic "it depends" or ymmv question). At least some hr. ranges or general thoughts would be helpful. TIA
