We used Ed Rowe for our V40 purchase in east central Florida in June, we were satisfied with his job. He went up the mast, tested the batteries, looked at the sails, and went out with us on the sea trial. He also like to have the buyer with him during the survey so he can talk about what he finds, and he spent lots of time explaining his findings.

Naturally, the problems we have found since buying the boat are not things the surveyor normally checks out thoroughly, e.g. SSB performance, refrigeration performance, etc. Here is his info below:

Edward D. Rowe, III - Accredited Marine Surveyor 1993

Adrian Volney surveyed my boat. I was, and still am VERY happy with the job he did!

Marine & Boat Survey, Yacht Consult for Florida & Gulf Coast - Adrian Volney

So far I have not found any major problems he didn't spot.

aboutgone,
I can recommend Bobby Brown, of Blue Water Surveyors, Ft. Pierce, FL....
I was very happy with him....and he was prompt, courteous, and professional.....
As well as spending most of the day doing an excellent out-of-water survey for me in the spring of 2007.....

And, if it makes a difference to you, he's an Accredited Marine Surveyor from SAMS and a member of ABYC.....

He works out of South Florida and Texas....but travels widely, so he can be where you need him....
Contact him at:

Bobby Brown
Austin, Texas and Ft. Pierce, FL
United States
Phone Number: 214-522-3505
Fax Number: 214-522-3373

Email: bluwater@airmail.net

Blue Water Surveyors, Inc.

I hope this helps...
