Rebel vs Widgeon vs ???

Hi. I'm looking for my first boat. I need enough room to put 3 people and 2 standard poodles with some comfort. I've done some sailing but this is my first purchase. The sailing I'll be doing is in relatively calm waters in Cape Cod Bay. I'm looking at a Widgeon and a Rebel. Both boats with trailers are selling below $1,500, which is my top price point. Which boat do you suggest and why? Or, if you have another suggestion in that price range (used)

Thanks!

Margaret

Aloha Margaret,

I've sailed and raced both boats and if each boat were in equally good shape would suggest the Rebel. It has more room for you and the crew and is a faster more secure boat. Good luck on your purchase.

Kind Regards,
