Interesting that they mention doing in-water tests at a sailing club, but don't make any results, or photos of actual boats, available.

Not sure how they could patent it or call it "NEW", I've seen it on Star Trek since I was a kid... okay it wasn't really on a boat, but...
Now I suppose if you made the leading edge out of the same material as the Ginsu knives it would be okay!

It looks structurally strong , but would macrame itself around any anchor rode that you could put down, a real trick to unfoul in a srtrong wind on a lee shore on a dark rainy night.
These brillant tank tested keels are never tested with regard to their tendency to foul anchor rodes and other lines.

If the loop keel is so good how come outward sloping bilge keels don't work?
Those boats with canting keels seem to run them just where one side of a sensible bilge keel might be.

Outward sloping bilge keels work extremely well. I've been sailing with them for 23 years and 6 Pacific crossings , making good passage times, both upwind and down.
