Pinnace information

I am writing here to get more information on pinnaces after having done some research on the web and not having found much information. I understand that they were formerly used to transport Captains to larger ships, and during the war, were often used as motor launches.

Looking for a moderate priced sailboat to move up from my 20 footer, and attracted to older wooden designs, I came across an ad for an admiralty pinnace. Here.

Does anybody have some information on these types of boats (how do they sail, are they sea worthy...)? This model is ketch rigged and has an interesting design in my opinion. However, I suspect it to be closer to a motor sailor than a 100% sailboat (I despise motoring - so that would be a no-go).

Thanks for any input! Cheerio.
