Pictures on board

Newbie question here: How do you hang pictures in the salon?

I'm not keen on drilling a bunch of holes in beautiful teak, but I'd like to hang up one framed photo. What do you do to counteract healing... or keep the picture from falling off?

My appoligies if this sounds stupid, but I just can't picture it (oooh, bad pun).

Thanks,
The mini

I use velcro. NO DRILLING. The stuff is strong enough to hold paintings and art in a seaway.

We use the double sided sticky pads (Entlie says they are 3M mounting squares). They leave a little residue when we take the frame down, but it cleans up fairly easily with a little "Goo Off."

Assuming you don't have huge heavy picture frames, hot glue works very nicely. I have put up pictures and even mirrors with liberal applications of hot glue. When it is time to remove them, a screwdriver blade under the frame will pop them right off and the glue peels away to leave an unblemished surface. Of course, your mileage may vary.....

Great suggestions!
I think I'll try velcro first and then the hot glue if the velcro isn't strong enough. The frame is wood, although they used plexglass instead of glass.
Defjef's salon looks great - that's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'll post a photo when she's done. Maybe have a house warming party!

Sully,

Thanks, I assume you are refering to the yacht interior and not the art. All I can take credit for is selecting the paintings, the upholstery fabric, pillow, the lighting and the half hull, the rest is Contest.

But it is a lovely salon. Stop by for a visit one of these days.
