I mean the old k/cb boats, built in the 70s. There's one of these on the hard at my marina. Nice looking boat...anyone know anything about them? Thanks.

There are lots of them around in Rhode Island and Connecticut. Perhaps this link will give you somewhat of a start http://pearsoninfo.net/33-2/33-2.htm Jim

| Sails well, but
I was on a Person 33 for the Around Grenada Race in 1975. It sailed very well, as we were neck and neck with several larger boats and ended up 2nd or 3rd overall. However, in 20 knots of trade wind, there was considerable hull flexing. You have heard the story of getting caught in the head due to the door getting stuck on one tack -- this actually happened to one of the ladies. The boat was hauled later in the season and had a significant crack at the keel/hull joint. IMHO, they would be capable coastal cruisers, but a bit suspect for voyaging. Addi |
