It would probably be best for you to stick with crewing on a racing boat rather than attempting to be the Skipper
Wow. Interesting.

Yesterday was workout day.

Stretching, Push ups, Pull ups, followed by a 2.5 - 3 mile run in 90 degree heat.

It gets all the juices flowing........

The gratuitous insult juices? You should change your workout.

Your insult quota had topped out so I felt I needed to respond.

Have a nice day.

You know what, it takes two to tangle. All CF members agree to post respectfully when they join. Both of you guys are at fault here, you know who you are, just pull in your horns, and do as you said you'd do!

Re: Pearson 26 extreme heel in a gust

So even if you have a slow boat, you can still stay ahead in a real race or a fun race.

Black Magic had never lost a race in the Pre Americas Cup races in 1995.

They had beaten the Australians easily maybe 3 times but the Australians with their slower boat tried a different strategy in this race and it worked.

Win the start and stay on them...….hard. That red socks guy, Peter Blake, was not on Black Magic that day, but John Bertrand was on the Australian boat (Rod Davis was Skipper)

My son and I were racing our Hobie 16 in Nashville that weekend, so I had my wife record it on the VHS. I still have that tape.

What was insulting about my thoughts about PHRF ratings?

You’re entitled to your opinion about them. I don’t see why my airing mine is grounds for your response.

As far as “history” goes, I don’t consider making fun of you putting the same beach cat videos in 40% of your posts to be all that grievous.

A couple lessons for you that will really help you as you go forward. First, hold your main sheet loosly in your tiller hand, or keep in very close at all times. Second and the most important thing you will ever remember, "when in doubt, let it out!"

Rounding up is a more frightening and dangerous move for your crew. In your scenario, if you had the sheet in your hand, you would have eased it and felt the boat gently flatten while maintaining your heading. Your passengers will also realize that you are always in full control. Happy sailing!
